As offshore developments move further from shore, reliable helicopter operations become increasingly important. Imenco Aviation has delivered aviation fuel systems for almost 50 years and has extensive experience with helicopter refuelling systems designed for demanding offshore environments. Aftermarket Manager Jan Erik Hustvedt has worked with aviation systems since 1997, supporting customers and projects from Antarctica to Svalbard. More recently, he has been closely involved with Imenco’s growing organisation in Macaé, Brazil. Hustvedt is impressed by what he sees from the local Imenco team.
“It has been both impressive and inspiring to follow the tremendous development of our organisation in Brazil. In 2023, we had around 20 employees. Today, we have more than 50 highly motivated and skilled people who understand the local offshore industry and are building extensive knowledge of Imenco’s internationally recognised products and solutions,” says Hustvedt.

For Hustvedt, one of the most important developments is Imenco’s growing ability to support customers throughout the lifetime of their offshore aviation systems.
With a stronger local organisation, Imenco can provide service, inspection, maintenance and technical support both offshore and onshore, backed by the company’s international engineering and aviation expertise.
This is particularly relevant for operators of rigs and FPSOs. As Brazilian offshore developments expand into increasingly remote areas, dependable helicopter infrastructure – including safe and efficient refuelling systems – becomes even more critical.
“The combination of people who know the Brazilian offshore industry and our international experience is very powerful. We want to be close to our customers, not only when a new system is delivered, but throughout its operational lifetime,” Hustvedt explains.
Imenco’s aviation fuel systems portfolio ranges from complete offshore helicopter refuelling systems and associated equipment to offshore inspection, maintenance and certification services, as well as advanced technology designed to improve existing operations.
One example is the FuelScan Analyzer (FSA), which uses advanced AI-based camera technology and automated analysis to support aviation fuel quality monitoring. By reducing the need for manual visual inspection, the technology can help limit personnel exposure while making fuel monitoring more consistent and efficient.

Hustvedt will join representatives from Imenco do Brasil and Imenco Americas at ROG.e, 21–24 September, where the team looks forward to meeting customers, partners and other representatives from the offshore industry.
