Imenco Delivers New Tether Management System (TMS)
The team from the division of Imenco Topside & Hydraulics has recently delivered a new generation Tether Management System (TMS) to a valued customer. The TMS serves as the vital link between the ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) and the operator vessel, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient subsea operations.
A Proven and Reliable Solution
The TMS is designed to lengthen and shorten the tether to minimize the effect of cable drag during underwater currents, increasing the ROV’s manoeuvrability and range without moving the vessel or rig. It also reduces wear and risk during launch and recovery, ensuring safer operations.

The Imenco TMS
Built on robust field-proven design principles, the Imenco TMS is compact, reliable, and easy to maintain. Key features include:
- Minimum bending of cable, extending tether lifetime
- Fail-safe latching system with dual lock safety
- Easy maintenance access and modular construction
- Drum releasing clutch to prevent over-pull of tether
- Integrated stabilizer base for safe ROV launch and recovery
The system supports tether capacities up to 480m with a diameter range of 22–42mm, and a regulated pull capacity of up to 150kg. With a compact footprint and total weight of approx. 1010kg, the TMS is designed for demanding subsea operations.
In challenging environments, where quality and reliability is crucial for critical operations, the Imenco TMS is considered one of the best systems available in the market:

One of the best systems available: With a proven track record, Department Manager Imenco Topside & Hydraulics, Karl Martin Tønnessen is confident that the Imenco TMS is among the best systems available in the market.
-Our TMS has been in the market for 15-20 years, and has a very successful field proven track record, says Department Manager Imenco Topside & Hydraulics, Karl Martin Tønnessen

IKM Subsea on client list
The collaboration with IKM Subsea has ensured that the solution meets the highest operational standards. Combining Imenco’s long track record of subsea engineering with IKM Subsea’s operational experience, the result is a TMS that not only improves safety and efficiency but also delivers long-term reliability in the harshest marine environments.
Supporting Safe and Efficient Subsea Operations
This delivery underlines Imenco’s commitment to providing smart engineering solutions to the subsea industry. With its combination of reliability, functionality, and ease of use, the new TMS strengthens the operational capabilities of IKM Subsea and sets a new benchmark for ROV operations.

Extending the operational capacity of ROVs: The Imenco TMS, as shown in a subsea environment, extends the operational range of ROVs with up to 400 meters.
